French Onion Coated Tilapia Fillets

Author Alena's Home Cooking

Ingredients

  • 2 lb Tilapia fillets or loins
  • 2 cloves Garlic (pressed)
  • 2-3 Tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp Onion Salt (Trader Joe's Brand)
  • 1 tsp Johnny's Seasoning Salt
  • 7 oz Crispy French Onions crushed

Instructions

  1. Wash and pat dry the fish fillets and cut them into desired piece size or leave them whole.

  2. Next, add the fish to a deep bowl together with pressed garlic, onion salt, johnny's seasoning salt and mayonnaise. Mix everything together to combine, cover with plastic wrap and allow to marinate at least 30 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, crush the french onions in the bag they're in using your hands or a rolling pin. ( You may use a food processor as well if you don't mind the extra dishes. :) Transfer to a wider dish.

  4. Dip each fish piece into the onion crumbs covering both sides and onto a lined baking sheet. (keep in mind the finer the crumbs, the better they'll stick to the fish.

  5. Bake at 400°F for about 7-8 minutes or until the fish flakes. (Do not over bake, you will have dry fish)
