Introducing a new treat, the HazelDream Bar—a reimagined twist on the viral Dubai chocolate trend, where premium ingredients meet bold flavor. If you’re a fan of the viral Dubai chocolate candy bar and you love nuts, then this version is going to be your new obsession.

This indulgent bar starts with a smooth, melt-in-your-mouth chocolate shell, giving you that signature rich sweetness. But the real magic lies inside: a luscious semi-sweet Nutella core, perfectly complemented by deep, nutty richness of toasted hazelnuts and that irresistible crunch of kataifi.

The result? A velvety texture with a lot of crunch, making every bite feel like a moment of pure indulgence. Whether you’re treating yourself or gifting a friend, this bar is sure to be your new go-to for a sweet, nutty escape. If you’ve got a thing for nuts, this bar has your name on it.

If you don’t already know, the Dubai original bar is a sweet treat of milk chocolate that is known for its crunchy texture stuffing which consists of the crispy knafeh also known as kataifi (filo pastry or phyllo dough), pistachio cream (made from pistachio nuts) and tahini (sesame seed cream).

Handmade dubai chocolate bars are not difficult to make at home. Creative dessert makers continued beyond the bar and made their own version of the treat as well as copycat versions of the latest food trends. Now, there are quite a few variations of Dubai bar inspired desserts on the web such as Dubai chocolate croissants, crepes, cakes, Dubai chocolate paczki, traditional doughnuts and even Dubai chocolate milkshakes. Kataifi pastry is versatile and can be used to make dozens of flavors.

When i shared my candy bar version on social media platforms, i had so many DM’s asking for the recipe and that just pushed me to writing this post. I hope you give this HazelDream Dubai chocolate version a try and let me know what you think in the comments below.

For Best Dubai Chocolate Results:

A very crucial thing to get the best results for your Dubai chocolates is to use high quality ingredients. Using cheap chocolate is just going to be a waste of time and ingredients.

I have found my perfect combo by combining callebaut dark and milk chocolate callets.

Using just milk chocolate is too sweet to my liking (especially with a thick chocolate bar mold) and only dark, my husband and kids didn’t like it so we found our perfect middle. You can try your own combination of high quality chocolates as long as you stick to the right proportions.

Toast the Hazelnuts:

I always purchase these blanched, roasted hazelnuts and keep them in my freezer to preserve freshness. Right before using, i toast the nuts even more on a pan until they develop slightly golden brown spots. This enhances the flavor of them and makes the chocolate taste even better.

How do i make the viral Dubai chocolate less sweet?

I have found a few things work for me to balance out the sweetness of the Nutella, Trust me, it’s magic!

  • Adding more Tahini sauce (adds a slightly nutty/savory touch. you don’t really taste it but it does what it’s supposed to)
  • Mixture of dark chocolate with milk chocolate callets.
  • Adding a pinch of salt. Even adding just a small pinch makes a big difference.

Where can i find all of the ingredients?

You can find some of the ingredients needed in your local grocery stores, but i have found it difficult to get my hands on all of them at once. I prefer ordering on amazon, here is my shopping list.

Why is my chocolate melting in my hands?

Improper tempering. Chocolate needs to be properly tempered for making candies and chocolate bars. Properly tempered chocolate has a smooth and glossy finish and keeps it from easily melting in your hands. Whenever chocolate needs to have a beautiful satin gloss and a hard snap, tempering is absolutely crucial.

If you don’t properly temper chocolate, not a huge deal, just keep it in your fridge until ready to enjoy.

How to properly temper chocolate?

I like to use the seeding method. It is tempering chocolate by adding small amounts of unmelted callets to melted chocolate. See detailed instructions How to temper chocolate with callets here.

Why replace butter for coconut oil?

It tastes better. It enhances a rich chocolate flavor and satisfies my taste buds. The original Dubai chocolate recipe calls for unsalted butter but because this is my own version of chocolate, i prefer coconut oil. It tastes better for me.

Ingredients Needed: (for 1 chocolate mold that is 1″deep)

Instructions How to make Hazelnut Nutella Dubai Chocolate:

1. Add 1 Tbsp of coconut oil to a pan and toast the crispy kataifi until they are golden brown in color. (Be careful not to burn) Remove from heat and transfer to a deep bowl.

2. Toast 160g (about 1 cup) of hazelnuts until they have lightly golden brown spots here and there. Add to the same bowl.

3. Add 160g of nutella and 45g of tahini sauce to the bowl.

4. Add a pinch or 2g of salt and mix everything together to combine. It is much easier to mix everything while the toasted kataifi and nuts are still warm. Once mixed, set it aside to cool off.

5. Melt and temper chocolate. Carefully fill the silicone mold with melted chocolate using a measuring cup or a spoon. Fill the mold quickly and evenly aiming to cover all the details of the cavity. Then, gently tap the mold on a flat surface to release any air bubbles and scrape off any excess chocolate along the edges.

6. Place the mold in the refrigerator to set quicker. It is ready to be filled when all the chocolate has hardened.

7. Fill the mold with the hazelnut nutella filling the best you can, gently pressing to avoid any hollow spots.

8. Pour the remaining chocolate over the filling and spread as even as you can. Clean the edges one more time before the chocolate sets.

9. Place back in the fridge until the entire chocolate bar has hardened.

10. Remove the chocolate from the mold and ENJOY!
