BBQ little Smokies- Easy & Quick Meal Idea

This post is not a recipe. It is a quick meal idea for every one who needs an idea. Can we all agree that sometimes we’re all bummed out and don’t know what to cook for lunch or what to make for dinner? I’ve been there too many times myself when i forget to meal plan, get sick and you’re unable to cook much, or just run out of time and need to make time for other things. Serving these little smokies have saved me from getting take out on some of those days. I usually have one or two packs of these in the freezer at all times and when i need them, I’d toss them on a hot pan and they thaw quick.

I’ve made these dozens of times and each time i used a BBQ sauce that i had on hand. If you want to fancy it up and make your own BBQ sauce, feel free, but store bought in this case works great. i have tried teriyaki sauces, a variety of BBQ sauces, and if you’re in for a spicy treat, use a spicy sauce. The measurements really don’t matter, do it to your taste, its your dish after all.

If you wish to serve these as an appetizer instead of a meal, or just a snack on game days, it is fun to serve them on toothpicks. (Easy clean up)

We prefer beef smokies in our household but you can use any other kind as well.

Ingredients:

Beef Little smokies

Favorite BBQ sauce

Water (if needed to thin the sauce)

Instructions:

Add little smokies to a deep skillet together with a BBQ sauce of your choice and cook on medium heat until all the smokies are covered in the sauce and the sauce doesn’t drip off the wieners.

If your sauce is too thick, add a few table spoons of water and continue cooking.

Like a sweeter taste? Add a little bit of honey. It really is very versatile.

Serve over spaghetti, steamed rice, a cooked grain of your choice such as buckwheat or barley or even with a side of mashed potatoes if you’d like. A fresh salad or steamed vegetables would complete this dish but totally optional.

If this post was of any help to you, let me know if i should write more of these kind of posts in the comments below. Better still, snap a photo and tag me on Instagram using #alenashomecooking.
