Simple Oven-Baked Potatoes
These baked potatoes are so easy to make and are my favorite to serve with steak. I love that i can put the potatoes in the oven and let them bake while i prep the steak. There are so many ways to make baked potatoes with so many different topping choices if only you just let your creativity do it’s works 😉 I’d say this simple version is my classic one , my go-to because a combination of a heavy meat and a light topping on a side potato goes very well together and simplifies the preparation.
Exact proportions are just not necessary to make these, you can bake as many potatoes as you need and top them off with as much or as little sour cream, green onions and cheese as you’d like.
Ingredients:
Gold Potatoes
Oil and salt (for rubbing)
Salted or unsalted Butter
Sour cream
Spring Onions
Mexican Blend Cheese (or your favorite kind)
Instructions:
- Wash the potatoes and wipe with a paper towel. Rub each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt all over.
- Preheat your oven to 350F and bake uncovered until the potatoes are fork soft (about 60-90min)
3. Cut each potato in the middle without cutting it all the way through, lightly season with salt on the inside, add a slice of butter (salted or unsalted) and using a fork scrape the sides of the potato and carefully mix it with the salt and butter.
4. Top the potato with a good spoon of sour cream, following with chopped spring onions and finishing off with cheese if desired.
