Steamed Rice with Vegetables
Sometimes plain steamed rice just gets boring to serve as a side dish and you want something else, something different but still something easy… One day i have randomly tossed some vegetables into the rice cooker with seasonings just to change things up a bit, it steamed all together and came out so good! Ever since I’ve been making this steamed rice more often than the regular one because of how flavorful it turns out to be. I used white rice for this recipe but you can substitute with your favorite kind. The 10 vegetable seasoning is my favorite to add here as it has enough flavor and salt. I normally get it at our local Euro supermarket, if you cannot get a hold of this particular seasoning you can substitute with any universal seasoning just make sure to adjust amount to your taste.
Ingredients:
1 cup of Rice
1/2 medium Onion
1 medium Carrot
2 cups of Water
2Tbsp Olive Oil (or any oil)
1Tbsp of 10vegetable Seasoning or your favorite seasoning (adjust amount accordingly)
Instructions:
1. Wash the rice thoroughly under cold water until the water is clear.
2. Chop the onion, cube the carrot, add seasoning, oil and water into the rice cooker bowl, give it a stir and set to white rice setting in the rice cooker.
3. When the rice is done cooking, gently fluff up with a fork and Enjoy!
I like to serve this rice with my super moist and flaky baked salmon.
OR these Honey Garlic Braised Riblets in red wine sauce.
